Systems Administrator - Tyndall AFB, Panama City Florida

Rome Research Corporation is seeking candidates for a Systems Administrator position at Tyndall, AFB, Panama City, Florida.

Preferred candidates should have a minimum of 5 years work experience with XP, Exchange, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Semantic Antivirus, Disk Imaging, A+, Portable email devices, MCE certifications or equivalent work experience. Previous military background and an existing secret security clearance is a plus. Candidates should be located in or within driving distance to Panama City.

Job Description:

System Administrator Duties: Serves as the unit administrator’ manager in support of Electronic Commerce/Electronic Data Interchange (EC/EDI) paperless computer communication for the contracting office. Responsible for implementing EC/EDI policy and program management directives, conducting workload studies to determine the operational status and capabilities of the EC/EDI, determining better or more cost-effective methods of providing required support, identifying equipment and facilities necessary to provide improved support, and developing alternative solutions which include modifying existing systems/procedures, as well as developing new ones. Maintains the computer systems including the Local Area Network (LAN) and the standard Procurement Systems (SPS the Procurement Desktop Defense (PD2). Maintain the EC/EDIO paperless computer communication system. Monitors system operation and independently resolves the maintenance and routine operation problems. Reviews  computerized documents, management reports, inspection reports, and determines adequacy of computerized products in satisfying technical and procedural objectives and requirements.

Help Desk Positions - Columbus Ohio

Rome Research Corporation is seeking experienced mid-level helpdesk agents with, at a minimum, knowledge of Microsoft desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office products in Columbus, Ohio.  Work periods are restricted to an 8-hour shift between 6:30AM and 9:00PM Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday.  Work will not be performed on federal holidays

The helpdesk’s primary mission is to receive all initial incoming computer related problem reports and requests for help for approximately 17,000 end-users by phone, email, voice message, or web request.  The helpdesk then enters these issues into the agency’s trouble ticketing system; performs Tier 1 support; forwards on to Tier 2 support or warranty dispatch when necessary; and tracks/documents resolution.  The Analyst performs at both Tier I and Tier III providing Tier III application and hardware warranty support.

A Security+ certification or the ability to get certified is required.  This position requires favorable adjudication of a National Agency Check or equivalent investigation.  Successful applicants will be subject to drug testing.

Electronic Technicians - Multi-Media Gateway Facility Lanstuhl, Germany

Rome Research Corporation is seeking Electronics Technicians with experience in Satellite communications and Information Technology Technicians to support the DSCS GIG facility at Landstuhl, Germany.  Operates three DSCS X-band ground stations and three commercial Ku-band terminals and one C-band terminal, Joint Node Network (JNN) or Regional Hub Network (RHN). Responsible for the operation and maintenance of strategic Teleport, DKET, and DSCS Satellite Communication earth terminals supporting DISA requirements.  Directs troubleshooting of satellite equipment and baseband equipment to include IDNX and ATM switch.
